Any or all of the following fields may appear in a record, depending on the content and type of the source document. If the source document was not originally published in English, both the original-language title and the English title (translated) are searchable. indexByThe author(s) of the article or book. Group Author(s)The CABI group, such as an organization or an institution. indexEdited byThe name of one or more editors of a source publication. Note that a corporate author can also be an editor. Click the hyperlink to see a complete list of documents edited by the selected person. indexView Researcher Profile and ORCIDThis table lists the authors who have claimed the document as their work. Click an identifier to view the author's publication list on their researcher profile, hosted on Publons, or ORCID. An author may have a Web of Science ResearcherID number or an ORCID, or both. If you're the author of the article, add it to your researcher profile, hosted on Publons, by selecting Claim on Publons - Track Citations from the drop-down menu.
indexSourceThe title of the journal, book, or conference proceeding. Source information may include:
indexConference InformationConferenceThe full title of the conference at which the item was presented. The field may be present for an item that describes a conference paper or conference proceedings appearing in a journal. If the conference paper is not in a journal, then no conference title may appear. The date and location of the conference may appear in the Conference field. indexAbstractA brief summary or description of the essential content from the source document. indexBHTD Critical AbstractA critical abstract of an article. Produced by the Bureau of Hygiene and Tropical Diseases (BHTD). indexAuthor InformationAddressesThe address of the first author or the address of the corporate author. indexE-mail AddressesThe e-mail address of the author(s). indexPublisherThe publisher of the source document. Includes the publisher name and publisher address. Note: See our Master Journal List for a list of our publications. indexCategories/ClassificationResearch AreasResearch area of the source publication. A publication may have more than one research area. indexDescriptorsDescriptors from the CAB Thesaurus that are assigned by a subject specialist at CAB International. indexBroad DescriptorsHigher-level terms from the CAB Thesaurus automatically assigned to records that contain descriptors in the following fields.
For example, a record containing Orthoptera in the Organism Descriptors field will automatically have insects as a Broad Descriptor. A record containing Siberia in the Geographic Location field will automatically have Russia as a Broad Descriptor. indexOrganism DescriptorsTerms in this field are organism descriptors from the CAB Thesaurus for CABI preferred organism names at the appropriate level of specificity for the concept discussed. All broader level terms in the thesaurus hierarchy are automatically added to the Broad Descriptors field. indexCABICODESClassification codes that indicate the broad subject areas addressed by the source document. Every record in CABI has at least one CABICODE. indexCAS Registry No.A unique numeric identifier assigned to a chemical substance in the CAS Registry database. In CABI, a Registry Number is automatically assigned to this field if the record has been indexed with a chemical term from the Descriptors field, which has an associated Registry Number. indexDocument InformationDocument TypeThe selected document type. For example, Article, Book, or Conference Proceedings. Book Chapter CountThe total number of chapters in a book. indexLanguageThe selected language of the source document. indexAccession NumberThe accession number is a unique identifying number associated with each record in the product. It consists of a product year and an item number. For example:
indexISBNThe International Standard Book Number is a unique machine-readable identifier that marks a book unmistakably. The format is a 10-digit number that contains 3 hyphens (-). The last digit is a check character, which may be a number or an X. The position of the hyphens can vary for each ISBN identifier. Example: 978-0-387-36949-5 indexISSNThe International Standard Serial Number is a unique eight-digit number that identifies periodical publications such as journals and electronic publications. If a journal has both a print ISSN and an electronic ISSN, then both display. The format is four numbers, a hyphen (-), three numbers, and then a check character that may be a number or X. Example: 1367-4803 indexNumber of ReferencesThe number of references cited in the source publication or patent. Does not appear in conference proceedings records. indexJournal InformationTable of Contents: Current Content Connect®This field contains a link to the Current Contents Connect® Browse Journals page where you can browse the table of contents of journals and books covered by the editions and collections to which you subscribe in Current Contents Connect. Impact Factor: Journal Citation Reports®The Journal Impact Factor is defined as all citations to the journal in the current JCR year to items published in the previous two years, divided by the total number of scholarly items (these comprise articles, reviews, and proceedings papers) published in the journal in the previous two years. Though not a strict mathematical average, the Journal Impact Factor provides a functional approximation of the mean citation rate per citable item. A Journal Impact Factor of 1.0 means that, on average, the articles published one or two years ago have been cited one time. A Journal Impact Factor of 2.5 means that, on average, the articles published one or two years ago have been cited two and a half times. The citing works may be articles published in the same journal. However, most citing works are from different journals, proceedings, or books indexed in Web of Science Core Collection. indexOther InformationURLThe Universal Resource Locator (URL) for an electronic document. indexGeographic LocationThe country or region discussed in the source document. Terms in this field are descriptors from the CAB Thesaurus and are allocated at the appropriate level of specificity for the concept being discussed. All broader level terms in the thesaurus hierarchy are automatically added to the Broad Descriptors field. indexIdentifiersIdentifiers are keywords that are non-preferred terms and therefore are not found in the CAB Thesaurus. indexLanguage of SummaryThe language of the abstract. indexPriceThe price of the source publication (books only). indexProduct(s)Lists the CABI databases to which your institution has a subscription.
