indexAbout Derwent Innovations IndexDerwent Innovations Index is today‘s leading patent research tool, helping researchers from around the world to quickly find, analyze, and share information from the world's largest patent database. Designed for both novice and professional researchers, its streamlined search process makes it easy for you to quickly find and analyze past and present available patent information in all research fields. The current version of Derwent Innovations Index uses a different search engine from the search engine that we use for other Web of Science product databases. However, the user interface, and most of the features available from within the Web of Science platform, are available in Derwent Innovations Index. When searching the DII database, continue to use the same search rules that you used in the previous version of the product. For more information about DII search rules, click the Help link in the upper right-hand corner of any product screen. indexNew Features and AnnouncementsOpen AccessOpen access status is provided across the Web of Science platform as a result of a partnership with Impactstory, a not-for-profit organization that recently launched a knowledgebase of Open Access (OA) content. This knowledgebase makes it possible to discover and link to legal Gold or Bronze (free content at a publisher's website) and Green (e.g., author self-archived in a repository) OA versions. This partnership improves discoverability and access to article-level OA versions not only by adding more links to OA content, but also by prioritizing the links to the best version of OA content when multiple versions of an article are available. Always consult the copyright owner for any re-use or licensing requests. You can learn more about OA on Web of Science at http://info.clarivate.com/openaccess. The OA status of a document can be one of the following:.
A key advantage of the partnership with Impactstory is the ability to prioritize the open access links so the user sees the version of record at the publisher’s site first, followed by the final version at a repository, and then the accepted manuscript at the repository last. Only one open access link is provided. Users may refine search results to identify these open access articles to ensure they can read the articles regardless of their library’s holdings. The following OA values are available as part of the export of the full record
Refining Results for Open Access The Web of Science Refine Results panel offers two methods to filter a set of search results to show only Open Access content.
Analyze Results RedesignA new intuitive visual analysis experience that makes it easy to grasp trends in large data sets at a single glance has been introduced. Users may interact with the visualization to provide more or less detail about the dataset or change the style of the visualization. To learn more about the data, users may click thru the visualization to see the specific records. Once complete, users may export the visualization to illustrate impact in a grant or tenure application. Find Research DataResearch data is now discoverable within the Web of Science! Researchers may search for articles related to their topic within Web of Science Core Collection and then filter the results to find data available for re-use to reproduce to build on published results. Simply click on the Associated Data from the refine panel. Note: Only available for subscribers who have access to Data Citation Index. indexThe Web of Science PlatformCitation Indexes
