The table displays:

  • The RID numbers (if available) of all authors found by the search who have registered with ResearcherID.com. The hyperlink takes you to the author's Profile in ResearcherID.com where you can view all the records in the author's publication list.

If you are the author of the current record, then you can add the record to your publication list by clicking the I Wrote These Publications button. Follow the online instructions from the Add to ResearchID page.

  • The ORCID identifier (if available) of all authors who are currently associated with a RID account.

About ORCID®

The Open Researcher and Contributor ID (ORCID, Inc.) is a non-profit organization that aims to solve the author/contributor name ambiguity problem in scholarly communication by creating a central registry of unique identifiers. These identifiers can be used within various systems you may interact with in your professional research workflow, including manuscript submission.

ORCID provides a persistent digital identifier that distinguishes you from every other researcher and, through integration in key research workflows such as manuscript and grant submission, supports automated linkages between you and your professional activities ensuring that your work is recognized.

For more information, go to the ORCID home page.

Importance of Accuracy

Due to the self-claiming of articles, a person whose name appears in the Author Identifiers table may not have authored the article that you are currently viewing in the Full Record.

For example, a student researcher may create an account in ResearcherID.com and include articles in his or her publication list that were authored by his or her professor. If you click the View Profile at ResearcherID.com link, you will see articles in that person's publication list, but they may not have been authored by that person.
