indexAbout the Search LanguageIn selecting a search language, you select an index to search. For example, if you select English and search the Author field, the system will search the index that contains English-language author names. It will not search the index that contains Arabic-language names. If Auto-select is the setting, the system will detect the language of the search term(s) and search the appropriate index. For example:
To find all records in which either لحسبان, يسرى عبدالكريم or Alhusban, Yusra is an author, perform two searches. Then go to Search History and combine the two search sets using the OR operator:
The name Alhusban, Yusra may appear in the author list in records from other databases, not just the Arabic Citation Index. Consequently, the search Author: (Alhusban, Yusra) performed in the Arabic Citation Index may return fewer records than if you perform the same search in All Databases. indexScientific Terms and AbbreviationsMany scientific terms and abbreviations always appear in English.
