Data Citation IndexSM

The Data Citation Index contains source records relating to research data available in Web-based data repositories and covers all scholarly disciplines. Records are presented in a bibliographic style (similar to all product databases within the Web of Science platform).

Bibliographic source records comprise of three data types that include: Repositories, Data Studies, and Data Sets. These record types are linked in relationships to allow navigation from broadest level records to narrower level records.

Records in the Data Citation Index contain traditional elements such as: Author, Source, Abstract, Address, and Subject Indexing.

About Citation Indexes

A citation index contains the references cited by the authors of the publications covered by the index. You can use these references to do a cited reference search. This type of search enables you to find works that cite a previously published work.

About the All Databases Search

The All Databases search function allows you to search all products in your institution's subscription at the same time. It is available to institutions that subscribe to two or more products.

If your institution subscribes to only one product (for example, Web of Science Core Collection), then you will not have an All Databases option. In this instance, since you have only one product to search, the system takes you directly to that product's Search page.

To access the All Databases search option, go to the drop-down menu to the right of the Search label in the banner region.
